Agree a meeting point

Pick one place just outside the home and one outside the immediate area, in case you cannot get back.

Print the contacts

Phones die and numbers aren't memorised any more. Print a card for each family member with three key contacts and a school or workplace number.

Give everyone a job

One adult handles children and pets, another handles utilities and the grab bag. Clear roles remove hesitation.
